Well… I’m still scrapping!

My attempts to try to MAKE time to scrap has been paying off. It seems to be that planning for an entire free evening is conducive to my getting something done. That, and having some new photos to scrap, apparently. If this holds up, I’ll create twice as many layouts in July as I did in June! (which isn’t all that impressive, unfortunately 😉 )

Trying something new!

I’m getting the itch to start PL again but I have to find a way to make it less complicated, less intensive, less work, less stress… just less. I know, I know, scrapbooking shouldn’t be stressful. But that’s how it gotten for me last year.

So it’s April and I’m starting to miss it, mulling things over in my mind. I signed up for Art of the Apps 2.0 at Scrapaneers to learn about app scrapping. I’ll be honest, I never even considered app scrapping up to this point. Not because I don’t love seeing the pages, more because I didn’t think I’d be able to let go of using lots of products on my own layouts. But the more I thought about it, my PL pages were mostly photos and words and lately the focus had been more on the words. So I thought I’d give it a whirl! Turns out I love it!

Here’s my 4th app page (the first 3 are of my DigiSis vacation last year). It’s a sort of title page for 2017’s PL.

Halfway through April…

And I haven’t scrapped much… but I HAVE scrapped! More importantly, I’ve watched TV, played with the dog and read books all when I would have been sitting at my computer in the past. I feel like I have more of a life! And THAT is what I was trying to accomplish.

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted

It’s been about a month and a half… I had a little epiphany during that time, I was spending all together too many hours blogging, promoting, social media scheduling and all-in-all talking about other people’s scrapbooking than I was actually doing what made me happy. So I made a few changes about how my free time is being spent. And trust me, there is less of it with the pupster around!

I also realized another thing, too – I missed storytelling! I used to be one who included more journaling than the average bear on a page but I’d gotten away from it because I usually had a small amount of time to GET something finished. I wasn’t telling stories, I was just scrapping with products. I’m trying to do that more intentionally now, with the focus on stories again.

So let me get caught up with the pages done since early February. You’ll notice where my inner storyteller gets her butt back in gear!

Adding a new puppy to the family certainly places a few new constraints on my free time. I’ve learned to tiptoe around a napping “toddler” again to try to get a few things done. He certainly is pretty darn sweet though… when he’s not nipping our toes or ankles 😉

A new member of my family

First up, I DID make a scrapbook layout this week in and amongst making the house all ready for our new addition.

I’ve diligently kept all of our “thankfuls” from 2015 in one place, some of them have already been scrapbooked, others haven’t yet. This one is from Jorge from last November. I thought the kit was just perfect for it!
