I finished another layout for Lilypad’s July challenges today. Of course, that was after I spent an hour deciding on just the right templates to get from Plant Your Story. I just love Sara Gleason’s take on template design. I generally increase the size of the photos for my own personal preference but I love the element placement. Ahem… I also picked up another Harry Potter type kit today from Tangie Baxter. I think that will be tomorrow’s layout. Both kids will be gone tomorrow for hours so I’ll have time to scrap except for the grocery store trip.
Here is my fourth layout for the challenges:
Template – Life Documented 1 by Sara Gleason, Papers and elements – Grandma’s Dresser, Vintage Vogue, My Happiness, So Grateful, Enjoy the Moment and Love Life all by Sahlin Studio, Font – Century Gothic
This challenge was to use a lot of elements all together. I like elements, don’t get me wrong… probably the thing that draw’s my eye to kits but I used stuff from five different kits on this one. I’ve been collecting Sahlin Studio’s kits for a year or so now, just about every week they just CATCH my eye and I have to have them. It was fun to try to use a bunch of different ones together. I’ve been wanting to scrap this photo as it’s one of very few I have of my mom’s mother.
I said I wanted to participate in challenges at the Lilypad this month. I finished my third one this month tonight. I also used the same layout to do the July Template Challenge for Sahlin Studio. I really do like the way it turned out!

The kids went to see the fireworks in Winter Garden this year. Elysse’s boyfriend Jorge was visiting for her birthday. The three of them picked up Ashleigh, a friend of Tommy’s from school. Elysse took gorgeous fireworks photos as usual. She came home and whispered “He was holding her hand!” Apparently, she doesn’t like her photo taken. They had a really nice time!
I finished another layout from the South Carolina Aquarium. We spent about two solid hours in front of the two jellyfish tanks. Part the first time around the facility without actually getting any really clear ones. Then we went back around to all the exhibits. The second time we both increased our ISO significantly. THAT made all the difference in the world. It was a little tricky to get a tack-sharp image but we managed to get quite a few.
Elysse was definitely in her element. She’s always loved jellyfish and these two tanks were just filled with two different types of jellyfish and quite a few of them.
We were really excited to see the photos we had taken.

I think I got a little mojo back this weekend. I finished three new layouts! I’ve been wanting to participate in monthly challenges to give me new ways to think about layouts. Because I LOVE many of the designers at the Lilypad, Sahlin Studio in particular whose products are some of my very favorite, I picked there. So far I managed to complete the July template challenge and the one word challenge. The third layout is using Cilenia Curtis’ new Beautiful Mess 2 kit and the Painted T2 template.

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since I posted here. Elysse has been very specific that I have to get back on this before she goes back to college! She says it’s the way she keeps up with me! So, I’ll have to do better.
It’s been tough to focus recently, this whole medical thing has taken a mental toll on me. They said anemia would make you feel fatigued and they were right. Haven’t had a whole lotta mojo. Hopefully, it will just get better from here.
