Who would have thought that adding 3 creative teams over the course of a day would actually reinvigorate me for scrapping as opposed to completely overwhelm me? I know of about 25 ish women right now shaking their heads… you guys know who you are ; )
After thinking about it, I understand why… two of them will offer me the opportunity to use all those beautiful inspiring supplies that I buy but don’t ever find, ok let’s say it MAKE, the time to use. I fulfill my CT obligations. I don’t compromise much on only generating pages I want to actually print for our albums. I try very hard not to make it just to make it, I want it to tell a story or showcase some photos for a memory. Some kits are just too cute not to use to tell SOMEONE’s story even if it’s not mine.
But I still buy digi supplies… I file them in a downloads folder, unzip them and they sit there… staring at me. The Digi Files, love the opportunity to meet the new designers, love the variance in the kits, but they sit there until I go looking for them to come out and play. Two of my new CT’s are template designers where I can use anything I want. All those kits can come out! I get so much product in any given month you’d think I’d never buy anything else. But I do! Don’t get me wrong, I work with designers that I love their stuff and it usually always is something that I probably would have bought anyway if I could so I don’t have to work with stuff I don’t like. Still, there is something about certain kits that will catch my eye and I’ll HAVE to get it. Even knowing it’s going to sit in that folder. I am reinvigorated and inspired. I am going to do both, both use products that I’m given to use and the things that have caught my eye and I want to use.
This layout for example. That journal card that says The Mountains Are Calling and I Must Go. I had to have that kit! Had to! That just completely summarized Tommy’s summer. So I looked at the latest template set from Zoliofrope and thought of it. I LOVE how it turned out! And Tommy got the biggest smile when he saw it! THAT’S what I was looking for.
